Our Secondary school consists of three areas, the Bridge (6th grade), Middle School (7th & 8th), and High School (9th - 12th).
THE BRIDGE program, specifically designed for a time of important transition where students are bridging a gap between elementary and our secondary program. It serves as an opportunity for our students to transition into secondary school at a pace that reflects their social, emotional, spiritual, and academic development needs. Students are able to participate in millstone secondary events, while maintaining their own community building events and curriculum reflective of this unique time in their lives.
MIDDLE SCHOOL is the first year that students begin block scheduling and rotate classes between core courses, fine arts, athletics and electives. Teachers in Middle School utilize the Summit platform as a lens to increase student engagement, supplement state standard curriculum and increase opportunities for feedback between teachers and students.
HIGH SCHOOL students participate in rigorous course offerings, coupled with community events such as the student sponsored “Do Unto Others” philanthropy week, homecoming, Formal, competitive Fine Arts and athletics. Many of our students elect to couple their OCA academic plans with dual credit courses from local universities, engage in local internships or specific programming in partnership with Francis Tuttle to guide post graduation plans.
