Kayla Yager signs to play softball at York College:
Kayla Yager’s high school softball career ended the way it should. Yager was voted First Team All Edmond as a short-stop, pitcher, and lead off hitter. Yager was in the state top ten with a batting average of .620. On the mound, Yager averaged more than a strike out per inning. Yager led her team to a 12-11 record (the best in school history) and a district title which was the school’s first in softball. Yager was rewarded for her achievements with a scholarship to play softball at York College.
Coach Janky, Varsity Softball Coach, said, “All year Yager was the best player in any position and she was an outstanding team leader. I have watched her play through injuries that would have side-lined most athletes. I have no doubt in my mind that she will have record setting years at York College and will continue to live a strong Christian life.”
