Do the students have to wear uniforms?
Yes. We believe appearance reflects values and affects behavior. Uniforms are an important tool in creating the appropriate tone of our
learning environment. Uniforms can be purchased at The Uniform Club at 14841 Bristol Park Blvd Edmond, OK 73013 or online at www.theuniformclub.net
Do parents get involved in the school?
Parents are a very active part of OCA. Many parents are involved through the Athletic Booster Club and the Performing Arts Booster Club. Additionally, many volunteer on an
individual basis as they exercise their gifts, talents, and abilities to support teachers and students.
Do you provide after school care?
Yes. The Extended Care Program is provided daily for students, PreK-5th grade. It is a positive experience for children before and after regular school hours.
The children experience flexible before/after-school care with opportunities for art projects, homework, and free time to play with others. The before school
care is an opportunity for students to visit with old friends and make new friends as they walk the perimeter of the school Cafeteria. The two rules for
“Walk & Talk” are the students are to walk and they are to talk. Students enjoy the exercise and camaraderie that has developed. The after school care
includes outside play which promotes creativity and curiosity. A snack is provided for the students.
Extended Care is offered from 7:30 a.m. – 8:05 a.m. and from 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Can my child schedule an on campus visit?
Students are welcome to shadow an OCA student. We love to show off our students. Please call the Admissions Office to arrange your visit.
Are there policies to follow when visiting OCA?
Visitors are welcome at OCA. All visitors must report to the office and wear a visitor's badge at all times. To avoid disruption, only those students who
are applying for admission may visit classes. Lunch visitation will be allowed for family members only (exceptions may be approved by principals). On campus
visitors are expected to follow handbook policies and not be a disruption to regular activities.
Does OCA offer transportation?
No. Many families form carpools. Office coordinators help put together carpool groups at the beginning of each school year.
Is there a summer school program offered?
Yes. The OCA Summer Enrichment Program is offered to families of children ages 4 through 5th Grade. This program is for any student that would like
to have a great, fun-filled summer! Activities include Chapel, Bible, Math, and Reading as well
as crafts, cooking activities, field trips, water play, and lots of outside time! Get out the play clothes, because we will not be wearing school
uniforms during the summer. Students bring their own lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Lunches can be ordered on Tuesdays and Thursdays
for an extra charge. We also ask that students keep a change of clothes available throughout the summer.
Is lunch served daily?
Yes. OCA offers hot lunches daily, either catered by Schaefer's Catering Service or ordered from a local restaurant. Students have a choice of a
catered lunch or chef salad from Schaefer's Monday thru Thursday. On Friday, we alternate between Pizza Hut and Chic-Fil-A. Monthly lunch menus are
available online. Order forms are available in the school office or cafeteria. Payment for school lunches along with the monthly order form must be
received by the designated deadline. The catering company charges OCA for all pre-ordered meals. As a result, refunds will not be made.
What is your inclement weather policy?
In the event of inclement weather, we will choose from three options -- OCA will close, delay the opening of school, or remain open. We will
alert local television stations to broadcast our decision in the early morning hours. Safety is our primary concern in deciding whether school
opens during inclement weather. It is impossible to know the road conditions in all areas, so we urge you to use your own judgment in deciding
whether your child should go to school.
